This is a sterling silver napkin ring made by Norman Watson from Durban, South Africa. “The ‘Boy on horseback’ mark is a representation of Dick King who rode from Durban to Grahamstown to carry the message that Durban was being attacked by the Boers. The markings also contain the SABS marking specification. Pieces made by Norman Watson are hard to come by and are rare.

The napkin ring is monogrammed DAS on the front with the date 7.12.1975 on the inside. The ring measures 5cms in diameter, 2.2cms high, is flat sided on the one side and weighs 33 grams.
