As we have only a small complement of trained, skilled professionals, we rely heavily on the services of other health care providers, including volunteers, to support the work we do. However, as Palliative Care is a highly specialised field, people need to be trained to help ensure that our patients, who represent a vulnerable group of our population, receive optimal and compassionate care. To this end we run an HPCA accredited course for professionals (including doctors, nurses, social and allied workers) as well as course for volunteers who wish to support our Patient Care Service.

Professional Courses:

  • The Introductory Palliative Care Course for Professionals
  • The Introductory Palliative Care Course for Psychosocial Professionals
  • The Bereavement Supporter Course

Volunteer Courses:

  • Volunteer Support Course
  • Bereavement Supporter Course
