This is a vintage oval tureenserving bowl with lid manufactured by Pountney in BristolEngland.
This blue and white bowl is in the Bath pattern and has beautifully raised areas and swirls in the ceramic handles.
The backstamp says Pountney Bristol Bath pattern and gives the pattern registration number.
The pattern and deep blue colour are strong and show almost no signs of fading or wearing.
The bowl and lid are in excellent condition for their age. There are no chips, cracks, scratches, crazing or staining.
The pattern is strong and the glaze still shines beautifully.
The bowl measures about 30cm length including the handles and 17cm across. It is about 15cm tall including the lid.
The platter measures 30cm in length and 25cm across. The lovely blue floral pattern is typical of the Art Nouveau period.
The platter has the usual crazing consistent with age but there are no chips or cracks.
