Vintage Alfred Meakin Sugar Bowl. Pre owned in good condition. value R300
It is made by ALFRED MEAKIN and is marked “ALFRED MEAKIN MARIGOLD PRINCESS SHAPE ENGLAND”.
The pattern is characterized by a geometric design in silver gilt (or silver trim), grey, and orange (marigold) tones on a cream-colored background.
Some variations, particularly the “Royal Marigold” or “Marigold Raymond” pattern, feature a border of marigold-colored flowers and leaves with gold accents, which was notably used for the Lipton “Cup of Knowledge” divination sets
It has beautifully hand painted Art Deco style graphics and a wonderful form.
The bowl is 7CM tall and 13CM wide at the top.
It is in Very Good condition . No chips, cracks or repairs.
