Vintage German Mini Beer Stein. Pre owned . VALUE R 450.00
The stein is adorned with a raised relief scene and bears a well known poetic German drinker’s proverb: “Gerste und Hopfen gibt gute Tropfen”.
It translated in rhyme means: “Barley and hops produce great beer-drops”. The side panels are two typical Bavarian scenes and the front is An 18th century man drinking his beer.
Its height is approx. 12cm / 5” and it holds a Volume of 0.06 Liters making it officially a “Mini Beer Stein”.
It has a stamp on the bottom “Handpainted, made in Germany by W. Schmidt”
It is Ceramic with a pewter lid stamped ZINN.
It is very good condition with no chips or cracks.
