Sterling Silver Christening Mug. Pre owned in good vintage condition. value R3000+
Beautiful Sterling silver christening mug, clearly hallmarked, Birmingham, TS (maker’s mark), and date stamped J indicating 1933.
The intertwined letters EML are engraved on the front of the mug, and on the inside lip is:
“A christening present from Pike to Eveline Mary 24th May 1942”
Engraving can be removed.
This piece is in very good used condition, with a few small dents and knocks visible commensurate with age.
Measurements: height: 8.7cm to rim; width including handle: 9.6cm, base diameter: 4.9cm.
It is a timeless and cherished gift traditionally given to infants during their christening ceremonies.
