Set of two coffee cups & saucers made by Hutschreuther Bavaria.
Condition: Both cups and saucers are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing.
The Hutschenreuther family started production of porcelain in Germany Northern Bavaria in 1814.
The founder was Carolus Magnus Hutschenreuther who established a factory in the town of Hohenberg an der Eger.
The coffee cups and saucers are in an ecru bone colour with gilding on the edges.
They are stamped on the bottom Hutschenreuther Hohenberg Germany with the dates 1814-1939.
The initials CMHR are in the shield below the crown. The mark changes in 1940 so there is every reason to suppose these cups and saucers were manufactured in the 1930’s.
Measurements: Cup: 4cm high x 7cm across (excluding handle) Saucer: 11cm across
This is indeed a rare find.
