August Walther ‘Lotos’ Cloud Glass Vase/Jardiniere/Bowl. Pre Owned. Value: R1500
A wonderful and rare wide vase/ jardiniere/ deep bowl made of glass called Oralit (in the British market this type of glass is often called Cloud Glass).
It comes from the German glassworks in Ottendorf-Okrilla near Dresden (August Walther and sons) and dates from the 1930’s.
The glass is in a shade called Sepia and the model is Lotos.
The pressed, colorless glass has embedded, streaking brown threads with a matte interior.
It has a simple shape with an outwardly turned-up collar. The whole vase is set on a circular base.
Excellent used condition with no chips or scratches. Dimensions: Height 15 cm Diameter at the top over 30 cm Diameter of the base 10cm
