Antique Davenport Earthenware comb dish. Pre owned in good condition. value R1 200
A charming antique earthenware Comb Dish and Lid, glazed in an off-white and decorated with a brown floral pattern. It was made by Davenport during the early to mid-19th Century. There are small aeration holes on the lid and two raised ledges in the dish to keep the contents dry. It could be used today as a toothbrush and toothpaste holder or a jewelry storage container.
The underside of the dish has been stamped ‘DAVENPORT’.
The dish is in very good antique condition with light signs of wear including surface marks to the ceramic. There are no chips or cracks.
