Antique chatelaine scent bottle. Pre owned in very good antique collection. Value R3 300
This is a superb antique chatelaine scent bottle on a gilt metal-chain with finger ring, circa 1880.
This perfume bottle measures 5cm in diameter and 6.5cm from the top of the bottle.
The suspensory chain and ring are an extra 7cm in length.
The bottle is made of beautiful white opaline glass and is surrounded by ornate gilt-metal cage work.
The top is hinged and has a delicately engraved design. It is in good condition for its age.
There are some general signs of age and use and the hinge has a little bit of play but nothing detrimental.
There are no cracks or damage to the glass.
Unfortunately, it is missing its internal glass stopper.
It has been cleaned and gently polished and, overall, it presents very well.
