About Overstrand Hospice

Overstrand Hospice has been operational since 2007 and is community-based, serving the whole of the Overstrand Sub-district from Pearly Beach to Rooi Els. We are a self-funding non-profit organisation, totally reliant on the generosity of our donors and supporters, income from our shop and fundraising initiatives to sustain our services free of charge to patients and their families.

Overstrand Hospice is governed by a Board of Directors. The Board is responsible for policy-setting, for strategy and for the overall financial health of the organisation. Board members are not remunerated and are nominated and selected for their business or professional expertise and their commitment. Many are retired professionals who have both the time and skills to offer as well as the passion to make Overstrand Hospice a success.
