A set of Wedgwood blue Jasperware sweet dishes each featuring a white bas-relief of George Stubbs’ horse studies.
Each sweet dish measures approximately 11.5cm in diameter and is impressed on the underside Wedgwood.
Inside the lid of the box reads Wedgwood Commemorating the 250th Anniversary of the birth of George Stubbs 1724–1806.
George Stubbs who was born in Liverpool on 25th August 1724 was associated with Josiah Wedgwood for twenty years.
From 1775 Wedgwood experimented with the production of large Queens Ware plaques.
As canvas maker for Stubbs who painted some of his finest works on Wedgwood plaques.
During his sojourn at the Etruria factory in 1780.
The blue and white dishes come with their original presentation box and informational pamphlet.
The box is in used condition but is still strong.
