Hans Jensen Silver Plated Hand Mirror.

This is a rare, flat-chased full sized hand mirror by Danish silversmith Hans Jensen who operated in Denmark from 1899 to 1970.

The mirror has a beautiful flat-chased botanical leafy and latticework design.

Flat-chasing means the silversmith tooled the metal entirely from the front to create line work, texture, and depth without punching the design out from the back.

The silver plating is fully intact and the mirror glass is clear with no blemishes which puts this mirror on the highest tier of vintage condition.

The flat-chased geometric latticework combined with stylized leafy flourishes points to either the late Art Nouveau/Edwardian period (1910’s) or the Art Deco era (1920 – 1930’s).

It is stamped on the handle ‘EPNS Denmark’ plus the stamp of a whale with a raised tail which is the signature trademark of Hans Jensen & Co.

The hand mirror measures 29cm in length and is in excellent vintage condition.
