The character ‘FAT BOY’ is from the The Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens because the novel features a character ‘a wonderfully fat boy–habited as a serving lad, standing upright on the mat, with his eyes closed as if in sleep’.
This ‘Fat Boy’ jug has such character with a tilt to his head, red hair and eyes that are almost closed.
In good condition, no cracks or chips but does have from crazing of the glaze.
The name “FAT BOY” is moulded on the back of the jug and underneath the jug is the Royal Doulton stamp and a ‘V..”
It measures 8 cm at its highest and diameter is 6cm at its broadest.
