Bell China Tea Set c.1930s. VALUE: R 2500.
Bell China is associated with Shore & Coggins, a Staffordshire pottery company that operated from 1911 to 1966. Under the trade name “Bell China,” they crafted elegant bone china pieces in both floral and Art Deco styles.
We have a tea set of 10 x Art deco flared tea cups & saucers plus 1 milk jug, 1 sugar bowl and 1 large cake plates.
The set are pattern 4625 which is a very pretty pastel coloured Pansie design with gold handles and gold trim on the base, inside the rims of the cups, jugs and sugar bowl, and around the edge of the saucers and plates
The tea cups measure 8.5cm wide and 7cm tall. The square side plates are 15.5cm x 15.5cm and the 2 cake plates measure 21.5 x 20cm. The milk jug is 9cm tall and the sugar bowl is 9cm wide and 5cm tall.
There are some are related marks /stains in the bottom of some of the cups that may come out with a good wash. There is also the odd indiscernible crack, and some gilding wear in places but no chips.
This set displays beautifully and would certainly make a statement on your vintage high tea table.
