This antique Vintage Edwardian Sterling Silver Card Case is  stamped C.E.W. Birmingham 1905.

Measurement:  8cm x 4.5cm

The visiting or calling card was an essential accessory to any proper Regency, Victorian or Edwardian lady or gentleman.

The cases in which these calling cards  they were carried were status-enhancing accessories too. 

Gentlemen were allowed to carry their cards loose but ladies were obliged to carry their cards in a case.  The custom died out by the Second World War as business cards took over.

This item is in pristine condition and a rare find. A stunning collection to any collection of silverware.
