'It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life,
that no man can sincerely try
to help another without helping himself.'
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Supporting Hospice through a bequest will have a very real long-term effect.
It will help Overstrand Hospice to continue caring for people in our community beyond your lifetime.

People often think that a bequest implies a really substantial amount of money, but this is not the case at all.
All bequests, both big and small, will soon help grow our Hospice funds.

By making a bequest you will not be affecting your current financial situation,
but you will be making a real difference to those in need of hospice care in the future.

You can bequeath money to Overstrand Hospice simply by adding a codicil to your Will.
Bequests are deducted from an estate before estate duty is calculated.

You have our assurance that any financial contribution will be well managed.

It would be greatly appreciated that anyone who does make a bequest in their will to Overstrand Hospice informs us of this.
We would really like to be able to thank you personally.
(Having this information will also assist us in our long term planning.)

In terms of South African law, a bequest in favour of a charitable institution is exempt from Estate Duty.
Under the Estate Duty Act a legacy left to Overstrand Hospice in your Will effects a reduction in the overall amount of tax levied against your Estate.
